Summer Learning!

The summer is a great time to brush up on your skills and prepare for a successful sixth grade year!  With so many web and app resources around, it can be difficult finding quality sites. Below are some great resources teacher-approved for summer learning. Check them out! (Kids--As with any website, adult supervision is advised.)

For more summer fun, check out Camp Virtual, an online and app guide to summer learning compiled by Common Sense Media. Use their "learning ratings" and concise descriptions to find great resources for fun and learning.

Also, 5th graders contributed to a huge list of recommended books. Keep your reading skills sharp by reading as much as you can!  As you read many books this summer, you can log your reading on Scholastic for a chance to win PRIZES!

How to Upload to Vimeo So We All Can See

1. Have your video file ready on a flashdrive or on your hard drive.


2. Have a parent create a free basic account at Vimeo.


3. Click "upload" up on top and choose your file.

4. It'll upload to the site. You'll see this screen when it is done. Feel free to give it a title. Follow to green box to go to the video.

5. You'll see this screen. You'll have to wait 30 minutes to see the video. Vimeo will email you when it's ready.

6. When your video is available, log back in and go to the video. "Copy" the url of the page, this is specific to your video. "Paste" it in an email to Karen and I'll get it on our blog!
